Alright so yesterday I had a meeting with my school and I met the guy I interviewed with face to face. Next I met the wellness officer and went over some paperwork. I'm telling you...from yesterday and today I've never signed so many documents and handed over my passport more in my life. After the meeting I pretty much picked a direction and started walking. It's a good way to explore a city right? Well I found a MRT station (trains bro) and went down and got an Easy Card, which is basically a refillable card used for the MRT, buses, and a bunch of other random crap. When I came back to my room I tried to stay up as long as I could which ended up being 9pm...but a definite improvement from the 7pm the night before!
Today was a very busy day. I started off with my breakfast and then walked towards the MRT. I was also on a mission to find Mister Donut. Mister Donut is a magical place and that's all you need to know. I found in in the station itself and I got one and it was as great as I remembered. I got on the train and met my wellness officer in order to get some stuff done. First we went and opened up a bank account which, can I say, so much paperwork when you're opening up an account plus being a foreigner. After that we went to a phone store and got a SIM card. The woman said that the card would start working at 5pm and now it's still not working...SO THAT'S COOL.
After lunch we went to the hospital to do the health check, which is required for all foreigners to get a ARC (alien resident certification) and work visa and whatnot. It took a billion years to get called on to be asked a few questions and get sent to do other things. It was a bit stressful because I didn't understand what anyone was saying (but I had my officer man to help me). I also felt like that little ball in pong...back and forth and sign this thing and put my arm in this thing and blood drawn here and xray there. I am happy it is over...
Since then I have been looking for apartments online. Which is the worst. They are either available September, too far away, or dudes (looking for ladies only is a bitch). Pray for me...I know that God will provide. Anyway at the moment I am trying to stay up until 10pm to get my sleep cycle back on track. Tomorrow is Saturday...I was told I should go to Elephant Mountain since it overlooks the city! It's either that or the zoo. I'll let you know tomorrow!
