I did it! I successfully enrolled in my TEFL (teach english as a foreign language) course with International TEFL Academy WOW! Let me tell you a story. Ok, well, it's not actually that much of a story but I think it's pretty great.
I have been waiting and waiting to do my taxes in order to use the tax return to pay the big bucks. However, I am a realist and know that I cannot count on this to fully fund the tuition with just this one source. Therefore I need to know how much I get back so I know how much more I need to save. Nevertheless I started saving to prepare. So get my W2, and have to wait for one more document to show up (student loans boooo). BUT it was taking foreverrrrrrrrr like where the heck is it?? My future is on the line! Long story short I got it electronically and didn't know. :/ I got my taxes done (wooo) and I received enough funds to enroll as long as I scaped a bit. YES! Since I knew how much I got I went ahead and called up my adviser Tyler (pretty great dude). He let me know that he held a discounted price for me! As it turns out I didn't have to use anything that I saved and that my return covered pretty much the entire amount. God is good guys! He's got my back and yours. Yet another example of doors opening.
So what's next? Now that I am enrolled I have a starting date of March 12th. This will be done all online and the course is 12 weeks. I am pretty sure I can start searching for jobs while in the program so I can meet my own deadline of mid/late June for departure. I am waiting on confirmation on that fact but we will see. It will all work out in the end. But the waiting! UGH!
